Alireza Ghasemi was born in Tehran, Iran, and received his Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from Tehran University of Art. He also spent a year as an exchange student at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Alireza is an alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus 2022 and has directed several highly acclaimed short films, including “Lunch Time,” which earned him a nomination for the Short Film Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017. He is currently working on his debut feature-length film, “In the Land of Brothers,” which explores the experiences of Hazara refugees in Iran.
